Looking' Out Forever by Paul Westerberg

Paul Westerberg is one of my favorite song writers. I just like how he catches a feeling and translates it to a song that I can relate to. This one especially. There's just a ball of energy that waits to be released.

The one who loves you most
Is giving up the ghost
And taking to the stage
Like a stone on a grave
Yeah I think of her
Every once in awhile
Every once in awhile
Forever
I'm lookin' out forever now
I love you now forever now
I love you now forever now yeah
I'm lookin' out forever now
I'm lookin' out forever now
I'm lookin' out forever now yeah
I love you now forever now
I love you now forever now
I love you now forever now yeah
I'm lookin' out forever now
I love you now forever now yeah

Ain't nothing else I can say
Nothin' left to give her
Abandon the wind
I'm a bend in the river
Standing by the bank
They're calling me across
Think of me sometimes
When the river flows because
I'm lookin' out forever now
I love you now forever now
I love you now forever now yeah
God I know I'm going home
God I don't belong
Taste me in his kisses
Waste me in my prime
Replace me with another
Think of me some time

Stand by Me by Oasis

I was just listening to the Be Here Now album on the way to work. Hearing this song and the subsequent song from the album just made me feel alive today. There are some things that you take for granted, hearing the nuances in the vocal stylings of Liam and Noel Gallagher, how they harmonize and all... such an amazing thing. Reminds me of why I became an Oasis fan in the first place...

Made a meal and threw it up on Sunday
I've got a lot of things to learn
Said I would and I'll be leaving one day
Before my heart starts to burn

So what's the matter with you
Sing me something new
Don't you know the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away

Times are hard when things have got no meaning
I've found a key upon the floor
Maybe you and I will not believe in
The things we find behind the door

So what's the matter with you
Sing me something new
Don't you know the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away

Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows
Yeah nobody knows the way it's gonna be

If your leaving will you take me with you
I'm tired of talking on my phone
There is one thing I can never give you
My heart will never be your home

So what's the matter with you
Sing me something new
Don't you know the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away

Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows
Yeah nobody knows the way it's gonna be

The way it's gonna be, yeah
Maybe I can see, yeah
But don't you know the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away

Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows
Yeah God only knows the way it's gonna be

Strip My Mind by Red Hot Chili Peppers

This song comes from the Jupiter disc of the Stadium Arcadium double album. The main reason I like this song was the backing vocals applied (the one singing "ohhhh", "yeahhhh") by, according to information from the internet, RCHP guitarist John Frusciante. I would have bet that it was Zakk Wylde singing that parts. But then again I could be wrong and I wouldn't want to lose money over a silly bet.

The boulevard will never be
So full of life and love again - hey
(Aw, say goodbye to your boots, man)

Hot as Hades,
early eighties

Sing another song
Make me feel like I'm in love again - hey
(You gotta lose to win)

Oh yeah
Oh
Please don't strip my mind
Leave something behind
Please don't strip my mind

All in favor sign the waiver
Bloody Carolina
Won't you take another look inside - hey
(Aw, it will make me cry)

Operator, co-creator
Come on radiator
Won't you blow another top and sing - hey
(Ah, you only get what you bring)

Oh yeah
Oh
Please don't strip my mind
Leave something behind
Please don't strip my mind

El Dorado won the lotto
All the cash and not a clue
But now you know what I've been through - hey

Oh yeah
Oh
Please don't strip my mind
Leave something behind
Please don't strip my mind
Leave something behind

Dive by Nirvana

I don't know what made me like this song. It could be because I was in a recent Nirvana-appreciation binge in alignment with Nevermind's 20th anniversary. It's most likely the gritty-dirty feel of the song. And oh yeah, Kurt singing "Pick Me, Pick Me" as if he's taunting the person he's talking to.

Uhg.Pick Me, Pick me, yeahLet a long, low signalAt ease, at least, yeahEveryone is hollow
Pick me, pick me, yeahEveryone is waitingPick me, pick me, yeahYou can even pay them
Hey!
Dive, dive, dive, Dive in meDive in me
Kiss this, kiss that, yeahLet a long, low signalAt ease, at least, yeahYou can be my hero
Pick me, pick me, yeahEveryone is waitingHit me, Hit me yeah,Im real good at hating
Hey
Dive, dive, dive, Dive in meDive in me

Dive, dive, dive, Dive in meDive in me
